About this activity
[Cape Kamui] A legendary "women-forbidden land," now a beautiful hiking trail. Walk along the stunning cliffside path and enjoy 360° Shakotan scenery. Stroll along the seaside promenade, with the magnificent views of the Sea of Japan on both sides, and in about 20 minutes, you can see a 300-degree circular horizon. [Yoichi Distillery] It is the only distillery in the world that still uses coal-fired direct distillation. This distillation method is labor-intensive and difficult to control the temperature, relying entirely on the superb skills of the coal shoveler. The whisky produced is rich and powerful, with a moderate smoky aroma. Another major feature of Yoichi is the maturation in new oak barrels, commonly known as "virgin casks." [Otaru] This small town, favored by the movie "Love Letter," is synonymous with winter romance for countless people. It is not only a fairy tale world intertwined with snow and sea, but also features exquisite glass and music box art, with stories hidden everywhere. [Shiroi Koibito Park] Shiroi Koibito is a famous chocolate sandwich cookie from Sapporo, Hokkaido. Local legend has it that an angel fell in love with a devil, but they could not meet. This unrequited love, symbolized by the never-melting December snow, was called "Shiroi Koibito" (White Lover). Later, an entrepreneur used this name to create white chocolate sandwich cookies. Today, the factory that produces these cookies has become a must-visit tourist attraction.
