About this activity
Departing from downtown Dunhuang, we'll first head to Dunhuang Ancient City (or Dunhuang Silk Road Heritage City, choose one, this time we recommend Dunhuang Ancient City) to experience the quaintness and solemnity of this historical city, as if traveling back to the prosperous scene of a thousand years ago.
Afterward, we will take a car to the Western Thousand Buddha Caves to admire the well-preserved grotto murals and appreciate the charm of ancient art. Next, we will go to Yangguan Scenic Area, stand on the ancient Yangguan Pass, look out over the desert scenery, and savor the eternal swan song of "No acquaintances at Yangguan Pass."
In the afternoon, we will continue to Yumen Pass, explore the important pass on the Silk Road, and feel the weight and vicissitudes of history. Afterwards, visit the Han Great Wall Ruins to learn about the magnificence and hardship of ancient border defense.
Immediately after, we will go to Hecang City, the site of an ancient military supply warehouse, to witness the wisdom and power of ancient military defense. Finally, drive to Yadan National Geological Park to admire the unique landform landscape, as if you are in a fantasy world.
This itinerary perfectly combines the history, culture, and natural scenery of Dunhuang, allowing you to fully appreciate the eternal elegance and natural wonders of Dunhuang in one day.
