About this activity

Located in the northern part of Beijing, within the Ming Tombs Special Area, the Yinshan Pagoda Forest is approximately 60 kilometers from downtown Beijing. It is an excellent destination for tourists who enjoy visiting ancient sites. The scenic area was originally the site of the famous Fahua Zen Temple. Later, the temple was destroyed, leaving only the ancient pagodas within the temple. Among them, the five ancient pagodas in the square, dating back to the Jin Dynasty, are relatively well-preserved. The pagoda bodies are simple and magnificent. Visiting here gives a very rustic feeling with a rich historical flavor.

The Yinshan Pagoda Forest scenic area is not large. The main area for sightseeing is the square where the five ancient pagodas are located. Here, you can photograph the ancient pagodas, and the rustic and magnificent scenes create beautiful photos. The pagoda forest is backed by Yinshan Mountain. Since ancient times, this small mountain has been known as the "Silver Mountain Iron Wall," referring to the white mountain body during snowfall and the steep cliff on one side that does not accumulate snow. Now, visitors can also climb the small mountain to enjoy the scenery, view the steep cliffs, and see many small, unnamed ancient pagodas in the mountains. In addition, taking a panoramic view of the five ancient pagodas from the mountain is also very good.
