About this activity
Because there are many steps in Takachiho Gorge, it requires about 30 minutes of walking back and forth. It is recommended to wear comfortable sneakers, and it is not recommended for people with mobility issues to participate. Thank you. 👉 From February 1st, participating in the tour will include a Takachiho Magatama bead, bringing the blessings from Takachiho home. Departing from Fukuoka, drive into the quiet heart of the Kyushu mountains, starting a day trip that combines nature, legends, and healing time.
The morning air still carries the coolness of the mountains and forests, and outside the car window are layers of green mountains and rice fields. Soon, you will arrive at Takachiho Gorge—the stream is crystal clear, and the Manai Falls cascade down from the cliffs. The people boating in the gorge look particularly quiet in the sunlight. The pace slows down even more in the afternoon, taking the Takachiho sightseeing train, which travels along the old railway tracks through valleys, mountain roads, and ancient bridges. In the evening, stroll through "Amanoiwato Shrine", the source of mythology. The scattered piles of stones in the cave exude a solemn and peaceful atmosphere, as if briefly overlapping with another world.
👉This trip has both the clear and magnificent gorge and the deep and serene mythological ruins, allowing people to calm down and re-experience the rhythm of nature. Takachiho Gorge Known as one of "Japan's Most Beautiful Gorges," it brings together all the romantic elements of waterfalls, gorges, and mountains and forests. 🌊 Sit on a hand-rowed boat and paddle through the depths of the gorge, looking up to see the spectacular view of the Manai Falls falling from above. 🍃 Take a walk along the trail, surrounded by green at every step, making it an extremely comfortable scenic route for strolling and taking pictures.
Takachiho Sightseeing Train A slow journey on an old railway, preserving the most original appearance of the Kyushu countryside.
🚞 The open-air train travels through the mountains, with rustic and peaceful scenery along the way, with rice fields, streams, and the Takachiho Bridge appearing in turn. 🍃 The cute retro train slowly moves forward, like driving into a gentle Japanese movie.
Amano Iwato Shrine Quiet and sacred, it is the key stage in the "Amanoiwato Myth". 🌌 Deep in the cave are stone towers piled all over the ground, said to be traces left by believers after making wishes. The atmosphere is mysterious but not oppressive. 🍂 The stream murmurs along the way, and the birds sing, making it a healing journey for both body and mind to calm down.
