Tickets for Shanxi Jinzhong "See Pingyao Again" Situational Experience Drama

About this activity

"Encounter Pingyao" is a must-see performance in Pingyao, Shanxi. It's an original project with breakthroughs in performance innovation, realizing the innovation of shifting from outdoor live performances to indoor immersive experience models. The project fully utilizes modern sound, light, and electricity technology, employing drama, dance, sound effects, and music to create a unique space. It integrates Shanxi's root culture, courtyard culture, and pasta culture throughout the play. Audiences walk through several differently themed spaces, with performers moving among the audience and interacting with them, allowing viewers to experience a sense of time travel. This is a large-scale indoor immersive experience drama that mainly tells a story about the inheritance of bloodlines and the continuation of life. In the late Qing Dynasty, Zhao Yishuo, the owner of a Piaohao (historical Chinese financial institution) in Pingyao Ancient City, mortgaged his entire fortune to protect a descendant of Manager Wang from the Russian Far East. The Tongxinggong Escort Agency sent 232镖师 (bodyguards) on the mission. Seven years later, Zhao himself, along with all 232 bodyguards, died en route, while the Wang family's bloodline was preserved. Director Wang Chaoge uses this soul-stirring story to express the spirit of benevolence and righteousness of the people of Pingyao and the importance that Chinese people place on the inheritance of bloodlines, showcasing the continuous cultural essence of our nation. The "time-traveling" immersive experience in this maze-like theater offers a feast where you can touch history, feel culture, and experience folk customs at zero distance. Travel through time from the present to the late Qing Dynasty and experience how the people of Pingyao, living 150 years ago, used their diligence and wisdom to compose such a moving and extraordinary magnificent chapter on the stage of Chinese commercial history.
